We manufacture 3 types of standard gripper strips for rug hooking frames. All of our gripper strips are sold in 40” lengths. In addition to the rug hooking gripper strips, we also have wooden channel pieces that match our gripper strips. These channel pieces hold the gripper strip at the ideal, slightly curved angle, opening up their teeth and maximizing their grip.

Gripper Strips

We manufacture 3 types of standard gripper strips for rug hooking frames. These strips grip the rug backing allowing the pattern to be repositioned as you go. You can order your gripper strips according to the type of fabric you work with:

  • EH3 – For use with Burlap/Linen.
  • EH4 – For use with Monk’s Cloth/Linen.
  • EH5 – For use with very Fine Linen/Punch needle work.

Wooden Channel Pieces

In addition to the rug hooking gripper strips, we also have wooden channel pieces that match our gripper strips (sold separately). These channel pieces hold the gripper strip at the ideal, slightly curved angle, opening up their teeth and maximizing their grip. They also allow the user to easily install their strips without the use of staples or glue. Further, with the use of the channel, strips can be interchanged for different projects or easily replaced if they were to become damaged.  We are offering these channels, which can be cut down to size and used to make a frame, or attached to a wall and used to hang finished projects, in the same 40” length as our gripper strips.
